MLK Monthly Preview: A Season of Spirit, Science, and Service

It has been an action-packed month at MLK! From championship trophies to community breakfasts, our students and staff have been busy making us proud. Here is a look at the highlights from the past few weeks:

Cheer Success: For the fourth consecutive year, the MLK Lady Tiger Cheer Squad proved they are a force to be reckoned with. The squad took home second place overall at the 2026 Ultimate Showdown District Cheerleading Competition!
Pi Day Math Contest: On March 14, our students showcased their incredible mathematical talents. The day wrapped up with the fan-favorite pie-eating contest; however, the legend continues as Mr. Kelly successfully defended his title as the MLK Pie Eating Champion.

Bubbles for Autism: Our youngest Tigers participated in a "Bubbles for Autism" event. This fun activity served a beautiful purpose: increasing understanding, fostering acceptance, and advocating for the inclusion of autistic individuals in our community.
"Spreading Love" Breakfast: We were honored to host our community heroes—including local Police, Firefighters, Crossing Guards, and City Officials—for a special breakfast to thank them for keeping MLK a safe and wonderful place to learn.

Reading Rocks: The incredible Joe Holiday visited us with his "Reading Rocks" magic show, leaving students (and staff!) gasping in amazement while getting everyone excited about the power of literacy.
AtlantiCare Egg Drop: To "Shell-ebrate" the season, AtlantiCare joined us for a mystery egg drop that brought plenty of smiles and scientific curiosity to our halls.
District Convocation: Our staff also gathered for the District Convocation, a powerful event focused on professional growth and unity across the entire district.
